Bell Curves1d6: How Often A Number Occurs
This table shows how often a specific total rolled on the die occurs, and gives a percentage chance of that number showing up. The Total column shows each of the possible totals that can be rolled. The Occurs column shows how many times a total shows up in the previous table. The Percent column shows the percentage chance of rolling a particular total. A total of 1 shows up (as does any number) only once. The number of times a specific total occurs, divided by the total number of possible results, gives the percentage chance for any number to show up. Thus, a total of 1 shows up once, divided by 6 (the total possible results) is a 1/6 or 16.67% chance for any single total to appear. Notice that there is an equal chance of any number being rolled, 16.67%. This is true for any die roll where you roll one die with a different number on each face. If you were rolling a d100, there would be a 1% chance of any specific number being rolled. That's why we refer to a d100 as a percentile die.
