Hello to all you extended family members, and welcome to the rough-and-ready, hasty-made web page to let everyone know we want to see you all! Here's what's up and what's the plan.
What
- Jason and Christine have generously suggested we combine their wedding next June with the second Collier family reunion. We had one several years ago at Cindy & Scottie Rawson's wedding... let's do it again!
When
- The wedding itself will be held on 19 June 2004, and we hope people will come for any or all of the week, from Sunday 13 June through Sunday 20 June.
Where
- Northwest Washington on beautiful Whidbey Island, which has a wide variety of activities available. We've also got one big reception dinner planned, where everyone can meet and mingle!
How
- Drive, or fly to Vancouver or Seattle, and rent a car or take a bus from there. In terms of lodgings, several levels of accommodation are available, so everyone can make their own choices and reservations.
TJ & Pat have a 2.5 acre pasture for tent camping, and there may be camping trailers available too -- more on that to come, when it's closer to June. There will also, of course, be hotel rooms in Oak Harbor. We'll have information on how to make your reservations up here within the next few months.
Through these hotels and the Chamber of Commerce, we'll all be provided with maps, brochures, and other information so we can get to all the sites in which we're interested.
Aside from the wedding itself, if you want to plan anything involving the whole family, please let Annie know what you want to do, and we will help you make it happen if we can. Otherwise, just plan on visiting casually, sightseeing, and getting to know members of your family better!
Why
Why come to Whidbey Island (aside from seeing lots of other friendly, fun loving Colliers)? Well, less than 100 miles from TJ & Pat's house are the Cascade and Olympic mountains for hiking, camping, bicycling, and beautiful protected coves for kyacking, canoeing, fishing. There are ferries for trips to the San Juan Islands and British Columbia and lots of golf courses close by as well as shopping. Something for everyone!
So come on out, see everyone, and catch up with everyone, while celebrating the union of Christine and Jason! This web site is here to both help us all coordinate our plans and celebrations, and to enjoy family, by sharing some of the happinesses, small and large, which we count as noteworthy milestones in our lives.
